Pasta Gratin
Ingredients:
2/3 lb. elbow shaped pasta
1 lb. ground beef
1 small red bell pepper, seeded and sliced
1 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup Dofino Havarti Cheese, shredded
1-1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste
Cooking Directions:
Cook pasta according to package directions; drain well. Brown the meat in a frying pan for approximately 2 minutes and drain. Add peppers and fry approximately 3 more minutes. Mix pasta, meat, peppers and cream. Sprinkle some of the cheese, salt and pepper in a greased ovenproof dish. Layer meat and pasta mixture on top and sprinkle with the rest of the cheese. Bake for 20 minutes at 350° F on middle rack of the oven. Let cool for approximately 10 minutes before serving.
Serve with tossed green salad.
Makes 4 large or 6 regular size servings
